Description
This thesis aims to uncover the narratives of menstruators, non-menstruating women, and transmen who are often excluded from discussions on menstruation in suburban areas of Karachi. Due to the lack of dialogue, menstruation has become a mysterious phenomenon. By exploring these narratives, the thesis investigates the efficacy of art and design-based interventions for research and knowledge dissemination. The participatory action approach with an intersectional feminist lens is employed to examine the above-mentioned areas. This is not an issue of "them," but rather one that affects everyone. Considering menstruation as an individual entity is problematic as the landscape of menstruation is shaped by various social inequalities that often work together to exacerbate each other.
